Its donation week this week so i thought i would write a few thoughts on the subject. Well, casulty was on earlier and it was an interactive one where we choose at the end who get the transplant, this girl called Lucy who had sistic fibrosis or this man called Tony i think who i can't remeber what he had. And towards the end we had to vote who got the have the transplant and Lucy got it. The man whos heart and lungs she recieved had just died in a car crash and his wife didnt want them to donate his organs, becuase she hated the thought of him being cut up but then thought about what she would want if her son(who she was pregnant with) needed one decided to have his organs donated. Around 17 people die each day whilst waiting for a donation,(i think this is in the USA, as i got that from an american site). And it got me thinking, in my opinion i think that everyone should automatically be a donor. People choose not to donate for many differnt reasons, like they have heard stories like that doctors wont try and save your life if they know you want to become a donor. Or they just can't be botherd to go out of their way to put themselves on the donor list. I think that everyone should go on it, becasue once you have died they are no good to you and it would save someone elses life who is dying and in desperate need of your organs.I know if i was put in the situation where my child died it would be extremly hard to make the decision but i would donate their organs, because it would be giving another child that chance and it would mean other children didnt have to die. But there cant be anything worse then if your son/daughter has just died when all you want to do is grieve to have to make the decision whether you want to donate thier organs espically if the child hasnt expressed any wishes to do so. And that is why there isnt enough being donated and there are more people dying while waiting for one because it is such a hard decison to make once someone close to you has jsut died, and you dont really want to think about a piece of them being taken away....I have made quite clear to my mum family that i want my organs to be donated as i am not old enough to go on the list yet and it will ultimatly be up to her if i die under the age of 18.
I was also watching another programme a few weeks ago about two 10 year old girls awaiting heart and lung transplants and they had to decide if they wanted to go on the list where it would either work and their life would be increased by about 10-15 years or it wouldnt and they would die, or not be put on the list where they dont know how long they are going to live, they could die tomorrow or in 20 years. And the two girls had to decided for themselves, it wasnt up to their parents, they had to choose if they were going to go on the list, but what a hard decision that is for a 10 year old to make. One of the girls said that if she was going to get a transplant it meant that another little girl or boy would have to die, and asked if she would still love her mum if she had someone else's heart, it was cute. But these two little girls were waiting doe about 2 years and then one of them got a donor and i think the other one is still waiting because she is so small there hasnt been a donor that would match her yet.

These are just MY opinions and i totally repect everyones, if they don't agree with donating, but what do you all think?

Okay so i was told to write about anything so here goes, today has been pretty crap really, i have looked after Marc and been to see Becki but it has been boring, then came home my parents were in a mood with me cause i left my room in a mess *yawns* if they dont like it they should tidy it or dont come in. My life is pretty boring atm isnt it? I need something to spice it up...

Anyway i have done chatting about shit now. sorry 4 boring you, will prolly update again soon cya X
